For
Edison Italia we perform
periodic drone photogrammetric surveys for the
calculation of stockpiled material volumes and tanks at industrial and energy plants. The service allows for the quantification of on-site inventories with
centimetre precision, monitoring variations over time through scheduled acquisition campaigns. From the professional drone acquisition, we generate
high-resolution three-dimensional models of the storage areas, from which surfaces are extracted and the volumes of individual stockpiles are calculated. The final deliverables include
georeferenced orthophotos, planimetries with contour lines, and summary volume tables, all within the UTM32/N coordinate system.
Volumetric monitoring is particularly suitable for:
- Energy production plants (biomass, biogas, waste-to-energy)
- Storage sites for raw materials, aggregates, and waste
- Environmental landfills and artificial embankments
- Construction sites with earthmoving operations, quarries, and mines
We operate with a single day in the field, minimizing interference with plant activities and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations. To learn more about this data acquisition methodology, also visit the case related to
drone survey services for an environmental landfill.
Location:
The following instrumentation was used for the execution of the works:
- Professional drone for photogrammetry
- GNSS receiver for Ground Control Points (GCP) survey
Data quality verification:
- Indicative metric accuracy of 2–3 cm depending on operational conditions.
- Certification of metric data for accounting and management purposes.
