The project for Fincantieri Infrastructure implemented a multi-layered mapping approach to overcome the typical shielding effects of port soils, ensuring operational continuity for complex logistical hubs. Through two distinct phases, underground utilities and potential deep anomalies up to 10 meters were identified, providing an essential diagnostic framework for the predictive maintenance of transport infrastructure. This risk management approach for storage and cargo handling areas enables the optimization of the port terminal's digital twin, reducing downtime and ensuring maximum safety during the integration of new equipment or the upgrading of logistics yards. Accurate subsurface analysis is critical for heavy load stability and seamless multimodal supply chain management, preventing unforeseen interference during structural modernization works.
- Phased Strategy: Specific instrumentation calibration to achieve both high surface resolution and maximum investigation depth, essential for UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) clearance and technical safety.
- Data Integration: Use of GPS and laser scanners for 2-3 cm accuracy, ensuring georeferenced data ready for immediate integration into CAD workflows and design software.
- Workflow Optimization: Delivery of surveys and technical reports within 15 working days.
