For our client IREN, we perform drone photogrammetric survey campaigns for work progress monitoring and calculation of cut and fill volumes at environmental landfills and sites under expansion. The service allows for precise documentation of the site's as-built status during each campaign, quantifying the materials moved. Starting from the digital terrain model (DTM) obtained from the topographic survey, we calculate the net excavation and fill volumes for each operational area: basins, containment dunes, road diversions, and backfills.
Each zone is identified and delivered with the relative volumetric data on a georeferenced planimetry in the UTM32/N system. Periodic monitoring allows for:
- Verifying work progress relative to the design elevations.
- Quantifying materials removed or delivered in environmental remediation sites.
- Controlling earthmoving operations in hydraulic works and quarries.
- Checking excavation and fill volumes for land management.

Data quality verification requested by the client:
- Planimetric accuracy in the order of 2–3 cm.
- Differential comparison between successive surveys for volume validation.
